Adventure Ties, Come on Grab Your Friends...

It's Adventure TIES.

Having a boyfriend with a birthday so very, very soon after Christmas means there's an element of "IOU a good present" to his birthday because, well, Christmas makes us poor. It's a good thing he loves me.

After the Adventure Time tie from last year went down so well and Commander had mentioned he'd like a collection in a few more colours, I thought I'd do a little tinkering on the old tie pattern and make him skinnier ties than the original, in black - One Jake tie and one Finn tie!

I used taffeta left over from my No Cock Nor Tails dress, and used a red silk for the tippet and loop label.
Sadly the pattern isn't symmetrical [as you can see], and I didn't use a lining, because I'm an idiot and didn't think about it.

No happy picture of the Commander in it - but he's worn one, which I'm taking as a good sign!
